Dr Jevgenija Prisutova is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Sheffield. Her work concerns fibre-optic flow sensing in buried pipes. She obtained a BEng degree in Engineering and Management from the University of Bradford in 2011 and a PhD from the University of Sheffield in 2015. For her PhD, Jevgenija did research on sound propagation in air-filled pipes with  inhomogeneities, such as an open end of a pipe or a blockage. She also developed a new method of porous material characterisation that extended the frequency range beyond the first cut-on frequency and applied it to traditional porous media as well as living plants.
